The current generation of "AI" is built on large scale machine learning of huge deep artificial neural networks, predominantly Transformer architectures.

With hundreds of billions of parameters, they require millions of dollars worth of compute and trillions of training examples

Examples are mined from US. Things we write, comments on images, pictures and drawings, conversations arguments blog posts, anything publicly available is fed to the model.

This is digested over months in some cases. This Beast does not learn, it consumes.

Poems about Taylor Swift going to Mars in the style of Shakespeare.

A parable of peanut butter in a VCR in the style of the King James Bible.

Simulating porn with anyone's face.

Destroying the distinction between reality and unreality, welcomed as savior of humanity that has been convinced "objectivity" and "morality" are the real evils, the descent into nihilism accelerates when the machines produce stories and meaning more powerful than humans can..
