NIGHT SKY, OVERCAST

The clouds are too thick to see any stars. Everything is calm and quiet - until it's not any more.

An orange glow grows behind the clouds. Thunder rumbles through the air, getting louder and louder.

The glow expands. Clouds peel back as something breaks through.
ZOOM SWISH - huge burning objects shoot down to the surface. A disintegrating SPACECRAFT.

Smaller chunks turn into dozens of shooting stars, leaving long smoke trails.

YELLOW EXPLOSIONS mix the smoke with sparkling yellow fairy-dust. It's beautiful.

A city skyline pushes into frame.

The yellow sparkles spread quickly in the atmosphere and dissolve. Most chunks of the ship burn up and disappear but the main body crashes some 50 miles away. The shockwave can be felt all the way here.

The streets are overrun by a crowd rushing from her to there. Public screens display "TOXIN ALERT! Increase the dose of your medication."

One of the streets is locked off by a ROBS labeled, holographic roadblock showing "HOT ZONE! Report any illegal tech!"

The air down that street glimmers like heatwaves over hot tarmac. It's completely abandoned. No power. No people. Nothing.
