One things for sure is the consistency 

Mentioned throughout ancient scriptures 

Revered as a sacred plant in the Hindu Vedas

Biblical references in the Old Testament 

Archaeological traces found in ceremonial incense 



Likely used by Jesus to perform miracles 

breaking tradition with the anointing oil 

Previously a ritual reserved just for kings 

but Jesus shared it with the common people 



Egyptian Queen Seshat opening the doors of Heaven

Found in the texts of TCM and Daoism 

Its benefits weren’t just about medicine,

But as a sacrament to induce visions 



Norse fertility Goddess Freyja 

Was believed to live in the flowers 

The ancient Greek writings of Herodotus

describes ‘Kannabis’ prevalence 

in the culture of the Scythians 



Japan’s indigenous religion, Shintoism

Revered cannabis for spiritual cleansing and purification 

The translated text of Tantric Buddhism 

References cannabis to attain health, wealth, and wisdom.



All of this, makes me wonder 

About ancient pharmacopeia 

the written records reveal

explicitly without a doubt 

They didn’t just treat symptoms of the body and mind 

They also took the human spirit into account. 



I’m not condoning mindless use 

Nor am I a judge on what defines ‘abuse’

I'm just expressing the benefits 

of a reciprocal relationship 

And to respect the power 

When communing with the spirit in the flower.
